It is important to note that Threat Protection is always on for all our policies. Over and above all the specific apps listed below, whole categories of web content are blocked for children under 18 years of age, namely: Porn, Gambling, Dating, Piracy (P2P).

Our technology partner, NextDNS, uses the most trusted threat intelligence feeds that identifies millions of malicious domains.  The feeds are updated in real-time.

 DNS questions and answers are analysed in a matter of nanoseconds, detecting and blocking malicious behaviour, that is now commonplace on practically any online journey!



There is usually only a few hours between domain registration and the start of an attack, so our partner’s threat intelligence system is specifically built to catch malicious domains earlier than classic security solutions.




PRIVACY IS SUPER IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDREN

Block ads and trackers on websites and in apps - including the most devious ones. Our solution uses the most popular ads & trackers blocklists, which equate to literally millions of domains - all updated in real-time.



We use Native Tracking Protection that blocks wide spectrum trackers that record activity on a device at the operating system level.

 

We detect and block third-party trackers disguising themselves as first-parties to circumvent browsers' privacy protections like ITP.

Depending on the age of yor child or your school policy, we block specific websites, apps and games (for example Facebook, Tinder, Fortnite and many more.)



We have created age specific Chill Time which allows access to some websites, apps or games during specific times each day.

The table below sets out the specific apps that have either been blocked or controlled for each of the policies.  Apps highlighted in GREEN are either allowed or given access to within specific time periods that we refer to as 'Chill Time'.

A note on WhatsApp

Although WhatsApp is available to children over the age of 16, the app is often cited by schools and parents as the most commonly used platform where children share inappropriate material and where children can be subject to cyberbullying and anti-social behaviour.

For those parents who want to mitigate this risk and add an extra safety net, we have created two policies that restrict WhatsApp to just sending and delivering text - blocking all media files. Look out for our policies in the drop down within the application that include "WhatsApp Control" in the title if you want to enable this function.
