Princethorpe College takes an educational approach to smartphones and technology, using tutorial time and the PSHE programme to help pupils understand the risks of over-reliance on smart devices. We recognise that managing these risks—particularly around social media and gaming—can be challenging. Sensible controls support pupils in developing healthy device habits, ensuring they make the most of their time at Princethorpe and are prepared to make good online choices as they mature.
As part of our ongoing commitment to keep children safe and engaged in technology, we are delighted to be working with SchoolsMobile - a solution designed to prevent harmful and inappropriate content from reaching students but at the same time keep them engaged in technology in a healthy and balanced way.

Protect your children from malware and phishing attacks, cryptojacking and much more.
Threat Protection is always turned on for your child regardless of what settings you choose.
Our technology partner, NextDNS, uses the most trusted threat intelligence feeds that identifies millions of malicious domains. The feeds are updated in real-time. DNS questions and answers are analysed in a matter of nanoseconds, detecting and blocking malicious behaviour.
There is usually only a few hours between domain registration and the start of an attack, so our partner’s threat intelligence system is specifically built to catch malicious domains earlier than classic security solutions.
APP AND CONTENT CONTROLS
Ready-made settings based on common sense and age.
We have a range of settings that you can choose for your child, starting with an Under 9's setting all the way through to young adults - simply choose the right one for your child.
You can change it at any time and you don't need to be near your child's device for changes to take effect.
BLOCK CATEGORIES
Over and above all the specific apps listed below, whole categories of
web content are blocked for children under 18 years of age, namely:
Pornography
Gambling
Dating
Piracy (P2P)
...and depending on the age of your child, Social Networks will also be totally blocked.

Our Threat Protection Only policy (18+) is also available in the application and can be used by adults who share their devices with children and want to toggle between the age appropriate policies using the simple drop down menu on your dashboard.
* IMPORTANT!!! Whilst we control the access to the above apps, you should continue to use the 'in app' controls that ensure that children are accessing only the right content for them. Our protection keeps children from malicious content but you still need to make sure that your children only have access to age appropriate content on apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + etc...
Our service can be used in conjunction with other restrictions you may add a device level such as Family Link and ScreenTime.
THERE'S ALWAYS A LITTLE TIME TO CHILL...
During the times listed below, items marked in GREEN in the table above will be available for use, provided you have initially permitted your child to download those apps.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to amend your child's chill time, log in to your dashboard, scroll down to Chill Time and click 'Edit'. During holiday periods, you can select the holiday option for your chosen policy to activate more relaxed chill time periods.
